Decimated Development News #14

Hey, Decimators! We're back with an action-packed update on the development of Decimated.

Let's jump right into the exciting highlights!

GAME WORLD & PLAY

Our Roads & Tunnels tools have undergone optimization and debugging, ensuring a seamless and efficient road-creation process. We've also developed road post-processing functions, adding realistic intersections and switchback turns to make your journeys through Decimated even more exciting.

To enhance the sense of scale, we've added background tiles to the game world. While they're not final, they give a glimpse of the vast world you'll explore.

Tweaks have been made to the camera setup and behavior, providing a better perspective and smoother controls. We've also optimized character movement for a more responsive gameplay experience.

We're constantly adding improvements to the world assets and refining structures across all locations. The map is being developed with terrain roads, lighting adjustments, and landscape fixes for a seamless adventure.

Lastly, we're excited to share that the Container City is progressing well. These structures will be one of key points of interest, adding variety and immersion to your exploration.

Vehicles & Driving

Our team has been putting a pedal to the metal on Cars. We've got the basic Car Bodies all set and we're now adding those special details for different versions like Police Cars, Taxis, and Civilian rides. We want to give you a wide range of options to choose from and make your driving experience in Decimated truly unique.

Cars are getting some more love from our team now. We've added fixes to the rigging and skinning. We've even added a badass Buggy to the mix! It's perfect for some thrilling off-road adventures.

To add that extra flair, we've animated flags for the Buggy. It's those little touches that make your ride feel even more epic. And here's something cool – we are currently testing a variety of tire patterns on the Buggy 6x6 version. We're still working on bringing this feature to the actual game, but imagine the possibilities for customizing your wheels!

We've been doing some research to make sure our upcoming Police SUV/VAN is just right for you. We want it to be agile and maneuverable, especially for those intense city chases in Decimated. To test things out, we've created some temporary models for it’s interiors. It's all part of the process to make sure everything works smoothly when you take the wheel.

And last but not least, our team has been working on the textures and details for the car's interior.

CHARACTERS

First up, we've been perfecting the new character – the Marauder (F)! She's a fierce and powerful addition to our cast of characters, ready to bring a whole new level of intensity to the game. Our team has been meticulously sculpting her appearance, making sure she embodies the spirit of a true warrior. Get ready to unleash her strength and conquer the challenges that lie ahead!

We've also been working on a tantalizing variation for the Masks (F). We know how important it is for our players to express their individuality, and this new mask variation will allow you to do just that.

Now, prepare to take flight because we have something truly extraordinary in the works. Yes, you guessed it – a jetpack! We've been pouring our creativity into designing this exhilarating feature that will let you soar through the skies with unparalleled freedom. To make it even more immersive, we've crafted a mesmerizing animation that brings the jetpack to life. Get ready to experience the rush of adrenaline as you navigate the vast landscapes of Decimated like never before!

In the background we are also working on adding a dashpack to the game world – more details soon!

Keep in mind the game is still in the middle of development.
